Matlen Starsley Band is a new musical project featuring former and current members of the Bryan Adams Band, The Ray Roper Project, Stonebolt,Touchdown, Straight Shooter and Fandango. These veteran rockers released their first Album "Rollin Again" July 12th, 2019. Their music is an eclectic mix of country, blues, guitar heavy southern rock and roots music. "We just wanted to get a group of accomplished players together to create some great music and recapture some of the energy and passion that got us into the music business in the first place. The Matlen Starsley Band – Rollin’ Again – July 12, 2019
You don’t have to be a fan of southern rock, but in the event you are, the Matlen Starsley Band serves up this dish, with a side of country and a heaping spoonful of the blues. The band released their debut album Rollin’ Again in July of this year. "We just wanted to get a group of accomplished players together to create some great music and recapture some of the energy and passion that got us into the music business in the first place. No musical boundaries, We are letting the songs take us wherever they may lead and just letting the music speak for itself." says lead singer Dennis “Dollar” Matechuk. Matlen Starsley Band is a new musical project featuring former and current members of the Bryan Adams Band, The Ray Roper Project, Stonebolt, Touchdown, Straight Shooter and Fandango, and along with Matechuk include veterans Kevin "Bubba" Star- Guitar and Vocals, Jim Wesley- Drums, and Don Lennox- Bass and Vocals.
The album features 10 tracks that might well remind you of some of those great bands like Lynyrd Skynrd or Allman Brothers, but rest assured these guys will stand out all on their own. All of the songs from the title track Rollin’ Again to Your Love Ain’t Special and my personal favorite A Life Worth Living, shows just how talented and tight these guys play as a collective. It’s hard to believe they have been together such a short time, and yet have created such a great collection of tunes. You can get their music on their website so be sure to check them out.
