Corvairs, The (garage rock, surf)

Formed in Montréal, Québec in the late 1950’s the Corvairs released several singles in the early 1960s and two albums on Olympia Records in 1963. The group split up in 1964. Claude Picotin, Robert Baril and Bobby Inch would form Les Flammes. Baril, Inch, and Vital would also do session work on recordings for the Olympic and Reel Records labels. Les Corvairs reformed in 1967 with the addition of guitarist Gerry Dusseault. In 1968 they added Richard Paquette. The band finally parted ways in 1978. - Jaimie Vernon, The Canadian Pop Music Encyclopedia
